Greetings!
I am a designer, fabricator, and material researcher who has the privilege of a career that lets me move throughout the design field.
I have a professional undergraduate degree in Architecture from Cornell University, and I will be receiving a master degree in Design Management from the University of Kansas in May 2021.
I worked as an Architect for the Kansas City firm Populous until 2011, when I joined the Brooklyn, New York based 3D printing startup MakerBot Industries as their first full time designer.
At MakerBot I started the MakerBot Design Studio with the mission to evangelizing MakerBot’s products and vision for 3D printing in the future. The studio was responsible for all public facing 3D design content created by the company.
The story of my time with MakerBot is told in the documentary film Print the Legend, which is available on Netflix.
Since 2015 I have run my own design, fabrication, and research consultancy, Kansas City Kit Company, with offices at Hammerspace Workshop in Kansas City, Missouri.
I have a life long fascination with kits, assemblies, fabrication technology, and anything I’ve been told can’t be done. I believe design is a collaborative process for positive change. The best design work is the result of a passionate dialogue between engaged and invested participants.
I hope you are having and awesome day, and working on something incredible.
