This 2.5D CNC router was created for a friend who didn’t have a lot of money to spend.
My goal was to produce the best machine possible for the smallest Bill of Materials price I could.
Using GRBL machine control and structural extrusion from OpenBuilds I created this inexpensive lightweight machine for Tony. It met our goals of an inexpensive machine he could play with at home, and it became the starting point for my ‘Build your Own CNC Machine’ Class at Hammerspace Workshop.
